WAKES - road closure

With the arrival of the Wakes, the following road closures will be in place.

Between the hours of 12:00 Midnight on Monday 10th October and 12:00 Midnight on Sunday 16th October 2022.

1. Castle Street and Potter Street, Melbourne shall be closed to all vehicular traffic including motor and pedal cycles between the said hours; and

Book of Condolences

Book of Condolences

Melbourne Parish Council has opened a book of condolences for people to sign following the death of Her Majesty the Queen. The book is open at the Melbourne Assembly Rooms this weekend 9am to 5pm at the entrance by the Melbourne Room, and 8am to 7pm Monday onwards in the foyer by the library.

Summer Sports Scheme schedule

The activities for the Summer Sports Scheme are as follows:

Monday 1st August & Monday 15th August - Play Mobile (includes giant games such as Jenga, Snakes & Ladders and Chess),

Summer Sports Scheme

The council's Summer Sports Scheme is returning in August for the first time since the pandemic. It will run on the first four Mondays in August, and will take place between 2pm and 4pm at Melbourne Junior School. A list of activities booked and further information will be put up shortly.

Bin Collection during heatwave

During the heatwave, all residents are asked to leave out their bins the night before they are due to be collected.

With record temperatures forecasted, South Derbyshire District Council staff will be out a lot earlier than usual to carry out the usual bin collections in order to avoid the hottest part of the day.
